Free Printable Valentines: COVID-19 Valentines
These are strange pandemic times, but hope is on the horizon! As more and more COVID-19 vaccines gain approval, it’s time to encourage and support each other in getting our jabs. And Valentine’s Day is a great place to start!
Here’s a COVID-19 Valentine we can all get behind: the ShotBlocker. I hate needles, and I panic when it’s time to get a shot. I still do it, but I really have to steel myself before it happens. A few years ago our pediatrician introduced us to the ShotBlocker — a miracle piece of plastic that makes shots nearly painless! Bambino, like me, feared his immunizations and worried about going to the doctor for every appointment. But with the ShotBlocker, that fear and panic vanished!
The ShotBlocker works by confusing and overwhelming the nerves at the injection site which eliminates the pain of the injection. It’s rooted in the Gate Theory of Pain Management. The little yellow piece of plastic has pokey spikes on one side — the side that is held against your skin. These spikes surround the injection site when pressed firmly against your arm. Your nerves are already so stimulated that they can’t distinguish between the feeling of the ShotBlocker and the shot itself. It’s amazing!
I was skeptical at first, but to prove it worked to Bambino, I asked for my flu shot first. The nurse jabbed me using the ShotBlocker, and I could look Bambino in the eye and say, honestly, “That didn’t hurt!”
And here’s the best part: they are really inexpensive! You can buy packages of them — enough for your class or office or neighborhood — for less than you might spend on candy. They are also available individually.

DIY Instructions
Print & Cut
These Valentines are intended to be printed at home. I used card stock, but you can use standard printer paper, too. Each sheet prints enough for 3 Valentines. Print as many sheets as you need! You can use scissors or a paper cutter to trim them
Write a Note & Sign
There’s a spot to sign your name, and there’s plenty of room to write a little note on the back if you desire. Make your Valentines as personal as you can!
Stuff & Seal Envelopes
Each envelope should contain:
1 ShotBlocker
1 Valentine Card
1 Explanation Card
Once everything is inside, seal it up with a sticker or some washi tape. Then distribute!
