Home Gardens & Climate Change

An Interview with Kate Bradbury

a conversation with Kate about gardening, climate change, and hedgehogs

How can home gardens help slow climate change?

If you have ever watched Gardeners’ World or Springwatch or Autumnwatch on BBC or BritBox (here in the US), you may recognize Kate Bradbury β€” or maybe her garden filled with frog spawn. Kate is the Wildlife Editor of Gardeners’ World Magazine in the UK and is a frequent guest on the BBC’s venerable gardening and wildlife programs. Her most recent book, One Garden Against the World: In Search of Hope in a Changing Climate, is part-journal and part-manifesto taking on the troubling evidence of species collapse and climate change as seen from her own garden.

I was lucky enough to sit down and chat with Kate last week β€” about her book, about her garden, and about where she finds hope. But our most important conversation was about what WE can do as gardeners to help address climate change and wildlife in crisis.
